New Milngavie Water Treatment Works - July 2007
This site has been established to keep customers
informed of developments on the largest single water treatment scheme launched
in Scottish Water's £1.8 billion investment programme for 2003/2006. It provides
access to all aspects of Scottish Water's flagship £120m project, which is due
for completion in late 2007.
The Katrine Water Project
will protect the supply of drinking water to some 700,000 customers in the City
of Glasgow, parts of East and West Dunbartonshire, East Renfrewshire,
Renfrewshire and South Lanarkshire. The project is designed to upgrade the
current Loch Katrine Water Supply Scheme by replacing the old treatment facility
located at Milngavie. The proposed scheme will ensure that future drinking
water supplies to customers in these supply areas meet UK water quality
standards.
